Factory shuttle bus crashes into ditch in Ayutthaya injuring many

A factory employee shuttle bus veered off the road, crashing into a roadside ditch in Ayutthaya, leaving a number of passengers seriously injured.
Police Lieutenant Thanapat Phongsatit from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Police Station received a report of the accident at 8.20am, today, April 7, on the outbound Asia Highway at kilometre 21, Hantra subdistrict. Several people sustained injuries, prompting an urgent response from the Ayutthaya Ruamjai Association to assist those affected.
Upon arrival, emergency services discovered the overturned orange bus, registered in Ang Thong, that serviced workers from the Rojana Industrial Park along the Ayutthaya-Ang Thong route. Workers, both male and female, were seen struggling to escape the vehicle, drenched and muddied.
Rescue workers had to climb onto the bus using ladders to evacuate the injured, transporting 21 people, comprising one man and 20 women, to the hospital.
Five employees emerged unscathed and returned home. An examination of the roadside revealed the bus had travelled approximately 20 metres before plunging into the ditch.
One factory worker, unharmed, recounted how they had just left the factory. While using a phone, they felt the bus gradually veering left and assumed it was stopping, only for it to plummet into the ditch, prompting a frantic escape.

A bystander, following in another vehicle, reported observing the bus swerving before it crashed. He promptly stopped to aid the injured, who were scattered within the submerged bus, reported KhaoSod.
As an electrician, he used a ladder from his vehicle to assist in the rescue and notified rescue services. Police documented the scene as evidence, and footage from a vehicle’s rear camera showed the bus losing control, hitting a tree, and then falling into the ditch. Police intend to locate the bus driver for a detailed investigation to proceed with legal actions.
