For decades, The Peninsula Bangkok has served as a cherished “holiday home” to guests during the Christmas and New Year’s seasons. Festive family pleasures

The Peninsula Bangkok takes special joy in offering magical pursuits for families at Christmastime. Among the most popular of these are the hotel’s Advent Calendar Evenings – held every night between 1 to 24 December, when a new window of the magnificent, two-metre-tall advent calendar adorning The Lobby is opened on the countdown to Christmas morning. The gatherings, which take place at 5:00 pm, are joyful affairs, with chocolates, candies and toys revealed for children, and glühwein (mulled wine) served to adults. Characters from the advent calendar’s whimsical illustrations, including the Reindeer, the Red Robin, the Gingerbread Man, the Nutcracker, and Santa Claus, also make appearances.

The hotel’s signature Afternoon Tea is also tailored specially for children during theလholiday season. Held in The Lobby restaurant against the backdrop of its gorgeously decorated, 18-foot-tall Canadian spruce tree, and accompanied by live piano renditions of holiday tunes, the Festive Afternoon Tea features an array of traditional savoury and sweet delights. A portion of proceeds from each sale of a Festive Afternoon Tea is donated to The Mirror Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting and empowering the indigenous hill tribes of northern Thailand.
