Join the MAD FACE multi-sensory ‘NERVES AND SENSES’ food experience in Bangkok

MAD FACE is set to redefine the culinary experience with its latest event, NERVES AND SENSES, an immersive, multisensory exploration of food, art, music, and culture.

Taking place from March 25 to April 6 this year, at the Event Hall, 2nd Floor, Central Chidlom, the groundbreaking event invites food lovers to engage with their senses in new and unexpected ways. The press and VIP preview is taking place on March 25 at 5pm.

NERVES AND SENSES promises to be much more than just a food event; it’s a celebration of taste, texture, smell, and sound.

Aimed at heightening the sensory experience of eating and drinking, the event is designed to stimulate all five senses with a unique mix of exhibitions, installations, performances, and tastings that will challenge your perception of food.

The event will seamlessly integrate gastronomy, art, music, and culture through interactive showcases, exclusive tastings, and thought-provoking discussions. It’s a celebration of food that goes beyond taste, inviting guests to engage with their senses in new and unexpected ways.

Event Highlights

Core 01: Exhibitions & culinary installations

  • Produce & raw food exhibitions – Featuring a fresh and creative approach to presenting fruits and vegetables as artistic elements. This showcase emphasises organic ingredients and sustainable sourcing. Visitors will explore raw food creations, sample seasonal produce, and discover the bold colours and pigments of fresh ingredients, inspiring new ways to appreciate nature’s bounty.
  • Pastry & dessert installations – A visually stunning showcase of pastries and desserts, blending classic techniques with creative twists. Collaborators will craft edible art that pushes the boundaries of dessert-making, offering guests the opportunity to taste unique, artistic sweets that engage both the eyes and the taste buds.
  • Fermentation showcases – A visually striking display of fermented foods and beverages, focusing on their vibrant colours, textures, and artistic presentations. Guests will experience the beauty of items like kimchi, kombucha, and sourdough, showcasing fermentation as an art form where aesthetics and flavour come together in a sensory experience.

Core 02: Farmer grocery & experiential drink space

  • Farmer grocery – A pop-up market offering fresh, organic, and sustainably sourced produce, dairy, meats, sauces, and artisanal goods. In collaboration with Jingjai Farmers’ Market, visitors can purchase high-quality ingredients directly from local farmers and producers, supporting ethical and sustainable practices in food production.
  • Independent craft bar – A curated space featuring craft sodas, cocktails, natural wines, and non-alcoholic beverages, catering to the growing sober curiosity trend. Guests can enjoy personalised drinks and learn about the stories behind small-batch, locally sourced ingredients from independent producers.

Core 03: Music room & sound programming by Bangkok community radio

Sound is an integral part of NERVES AND SENSES, enhancing the act of eating, digesting, and cooking to create an immersive dining experience. The event will feature:

  • Curated playlists & soundscapes – A mix of cool ambience, eccentric, and avant-garde sounds designed to mirror the rhythms of cooking and digestion in a dynamic auditory environment.
  • Live performances & digital arts – Live electronic, synth, and coding audio performances, paired with interactive digital visual art that responds to sound in real-time, creating a sensory interplay between sound and visuals.
  • Weekend party nights (Saturdays & Sundays) – After dinner, guests are invited to unwind and have fun at a lively after-party, where music lovers and diners come together. The night features a blend of experimental DJ sets, creating a vibrant atmosphere for guests to enjoy music, socialise, and celebrate the sensory journey.

  • Beyond Food Workshops – A workshop series that explores the deeper layers of taste, perception, and experience. Participants will interact with food, experiment with sensory experiences, and awaken their senses in unexpected ways.
  • The screening room – A multi-sensory space where food, film, and art converge to create a layered, cinematic dining experience. Featured food films will explore culinary culture and present scenery and visual art motions that enhance the showcase of decorated dining tables.
  • Exclusive dinners (Saturdays & Sundays) – Intimate, boundary-pushing dining experiences set in the Screening Room. These multi-course dinners feature curated menus designed to complement ambient soundscapes and synchronised visuals on dual screens, creating a full sensory experience that tells a story with each bite.

Entry Passes & Access

There are various entry options for the event:

  • General Entry (Free) – Open access to event grounds, exhibitions, and select public activities.
  • Tasting Pass (300 baht) – Entry to exclusive areas with special installations, tastings, and curated experiences.
  • Premium Pass (700 baht) – Access to premium tasting areas with select bites and drinks, plus entry to weekend party events with live music and performances.
  • All-Inclusive Pass (3,500 baht) – VIP access to all areas, programming, workshops, and weekend parties. A specially curated dinner experience with MAD FACE’s featured chefs is also included.
