Pattaya security guard investigated after knife threat in parking row
A condominium security guard in Pattaya’s Jomtien area is under investigation after allegedly brandishing a knife at a resident over a parking dispute. The incident, which had raised concerns about future safety, involved 46 year old Ek and his partner, 49 year old Am, who reported the matter to the police.
Ek recounted the incident that occurred yesterday, October 31, when he was dropping off Am at her condominium. Upon arrival, Ek noticed the entrance was blocked by a parked car. Seeking assistance, he approached Preecha, the security guard, requesting him to help move the vehicle.
Instead of helping, Preecha reportedly became agitated, verbally abusing Ek and challenging him to step out of his car. The situation escalated when Preecha allegedly drew a knife, leading to a heated argument before both parties eventually dispersed.
Upon learning that the security guard in question had previously stabbed a delivery person, Ek opted to report the incident to the police in order to prevent any possible violent acts by Preecha in the future. Ek expressed his determination to pursue legal action to its fullest extent, reported KhaoSod.
The couple’s decision to report the incident underscores a broader concern about safety within residential communities. Security personnel are typically expected to maintain peace and ensure the safety of residents. However, this incident highlights the potential risks when those entrusted with community security become a source of threat themselves.
