Phuket woman injured by stray bullet during Halloween evening
A Halloween evening in Phuket took a terrifying turn when a woman was unexpectedly struck by a stray bullet while outside her residence in Srisoonthorn. The incident occurred yesterday evening, October 31, raising concerns about safety in the usually peaceful neighbourhood.
The Thalang Police, along with rescue workers, responded promptly to the distress call from Moo 8, Srisoonthorn, arriving around 9.25pm. The victim, Netima Luansai, a 42 year old woman, suffered a bullet wound on her left upper arm. The bullethead was discovered on the ground behind her, adding to the mystery of the event.
Netima recounted to the police that she was engaged in a phone conversation outside her home when she suddenly experienced a sharp, sudden pain in her arm. The pain continued to intensify, and it was only moments later she realised that she was bleeding.
In her shock, she immediately reached out to her boyfriend for assistance. Upon his arrival, he located the bullet head on the couple’s doormat, which led them to promptly contact the police.
“I was just sitting and talking on the phone when I felt this sharp pain,” Netima explained, still visibly shaken by the incident.
Police officers examined the scene, scrutinising the bullet’s trajectory and securing the bullethead as evidence. The collected information will be pivotal in their ongoing investigation to determine the source of the bullet.
Meanwhile, Netima was transported to Thalang Hospital for necessary medical care and treatment, reported The Phuket News.
Police continue their probe into the incident, focusing efforts on tracing the bullet’s origin to prevent any future occurrences.
