Music in the Park at parks across Bangkok

Date & Time: Friday, January 9 to Sunday, January 11
Location: Various parks across Bangkok
Price: Free entry
January weekends come with a solid excuse to hang out in Bangkok’s parks a little longer. Friday starts with the Bangkok Metropolitan Band playing in the park. Saturday gets busier, with the band returning, Jellyroll Jazz Club doing an afternoon jazz set, and the Horwang School Band taking over later. Sunday keeps things easy with more from the Bangkok Metropolitan Band, a Bangkok Woodwind Quintet set, and the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra playing as evening settles in.
Chef Ángel León’s Plankton Rice at LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar

Date & Time: Daily from 4pm to midnight, until January 31
Location: LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar
Price: 890++ baht (Plankton Rice)
LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar is serving Plankton Rice, a cult dish from three Michelin starred chef Ángel León, also known as the Chef of the Sea. The rice comes out a deep green, scented like the ocean, thanks to marine plankton that León spent years researching before putting it on a plate. It tastes savoury and clean, and it gets you thinking about how seafood could look in the future. It’s a solid excuse to order a glass of wine and try something you probably haven’t eaten before.
Molam to the World at Bangkok Island

Date & Time: Friday, January 9, 6pm to 12pm
Location: Bangkok Island
Price: 200 baht (online) / 300 baht at the door – Tickets are available via Eventpop
Molam takes over Bangkok Island for a night that leans loud, loose and full of heart. This one’s all about Isan sound culture, with khaen, phin and big vocals meeting contemporary beats and global rhythms. You’ll hear Molam bands on stage, DJs like Selecta Rainny and Tape Jam behind the decks, and plenty of space to dance it out. There’s proper Isan food on hand too, spicy and comforting in equal measure. Come to move and sing along even when you don’t know the words.
Soul Therapy at Slowcombo

Date & Time: Saturday, January 10 and Sunday, January 11, 1pm to 6.30pm
Location: Slowcombo
Price: 2,200 baht for a 90 minute session
This tarot session is for anyone who wants to slow things down and look at what is really going on beneath the surface. The cards are used as a guide rather than a verdict, helping you talk through questions that feel tangled or hard to name. The focus is on reflection and gentle soul work, moving from what is visible to what sits deeper inside.
Wolf Alice at Ambience Space Bangkok

Date & Time: January 11
Location: Ambience Space Bangkok
Price: Start from 2,900 baht – Tickets are available via Megatix
Wolf Alice are finally back in Bangkok, and it’s been a long wait. The last time they played here was in 2018, and a lot has happened since then. New albums, a Mercury Prize, and a reputation for being very, very good live. This January, they’re taking over Ambience Space for a one-night show that should swing between soft, emotional moments and full-on rock chaos. If you’ve ever shouted along to Moaning Lisa Smile or teared up during Don’t Delete the Kisses, you know the deal.
If the first weekend of the year was about saying yes to goals, this one is about saying yes to yourself. Have fun!
