Thailand is beginning to return to normalcy as the pandemic restrictions are being lifted and people are regaining their sense of adventure. This is evident in the 576% increase in visa applications made in Thailand in 2021 when compared to the same time period in 2020, according to VFS Global. The company also reported that more and more people are opting to use the Visa At Your Doorstep (VAYD) service, which allows applicants to conveniently complete every step of their visa applications from their homes.
Additionally, the Thai city of Pattaya is set to welcome back Songkran after a four–year absence due to pandemic restrictions. The festival, which is known for being the biggest and wettest party in Pattaya, will culminate on April 19 with Wan Lai, or the “Big Day”.
The city is also seeing a surge in foreign investments from India and China, with the latter buying up businesses as a fully integrated venture, rather than just owning individual businesses.
