Teen injured in Narathiwat after bomb explodes in hand

An incident involving a young man and a bomb in Narathiwat province has sparked nationwide discussions online. The 18 year old was preparing to throw a ping pong bomb at an adversary during a confrontation in Su-ngai Kolok district on April 15 at 11pm when it exploded, severely injuring his hand.
The explosion left his wrist severely damaged, with him crying out in pain as he was transported to Su-ngai Kolok Hospital.
A man using the pseudonym A reported to the Su-ngai Kolok Police Station to clarify that the ping pong bomb involved in the incident did not belong to him. Instead, he claimed it was brought by the injured party.
According to A, a heated argument broke out between him and another group of teenagers. During the altercation, the injured man retrieved the bomb, seemingly ready to throw it. In response, A ran towards the man and punched him, causing him to fall. It was then that the bomb exploded in the man’s hand.
The police confirmed that A has documented his account as evidence, asserting that the explosive device was not his. Meanwhile, the injured individual remains in the hospital’s emergency room and has yet to be questioned by the police, reported KhaoSod.

In similar news, a tragic incident in Phichit province claimed the life of a nine year old Thai boy after he picked up an explosive device found on a roadside. The explosion, which occurred on March 23, only drew widespread attention on April 2 after the Facebook page “ตลาดล่างอัพเกรด” posted about it.
The page shared an image of the device with a caption explaining that the boy had discovered the object while walking along a public road. Unaware of the danger, he picked it up, and it detonated, killing him.
The post also revealed that five additional bombs were discovered in the vicinity, raising serious concerns about public safety. It concluded with a heartfelt message: “Who placed these bombs on the road? My condolences to the family.”
