British family races to save loved one after Thailand crash

A British family finds themselves in a race against time as they strive to bring their comatose loved one back home after a horrific bike crash in Thailand. Desperate to raise £100,000, the famly has turned to kind-hearted Brits for help.
In a heart-wrenching saga, the family of Okemena Sule, a 30 year old British man, is locked in a frantic push to save their son, who lies unconscious following a devastating motorcycle accident in the paradise turned nightmare, Ko Samui, Thailand.
While travelling the vibrant landscapes of Southeast Asia on a backpacking adventure, Okemena’s journey took a tragic turn on February 2. In what witnesses describe as a gut-wrenching scene, his motorbike supposedly collided head-on with a car, resulting in a severe brain haemorrhage.
Despite undergoing emergency brain surgery, Sule tragically remains in a coma, and his family faces the daunting task of raising a staggering £144,000 (6.2 million baht) for his repatriation to the UK. So far, their crowdfunding effort on GoFundMe has gathered £35,745 (1.54 million baht) — a great start, but far from the mark, as bills pile higher.
His 33 year old older brother, Ibs, laid bare the family’s heartache.
“This is the hardest time of our lives. It’s been very stressful. My parents and I flew to Thailand as soon as we heard and have now basically moved here.
“But trying to find the money for everything is incredibly draining. The hospital bill is already at £70,000, and the cheapest quote we’ve had for medical repatriation to the UK is a staggering £144,000.”

Racked by uncertainty, the Sule family don’t even know if Okemena had the safety net of travel insurance. Ibs lamented the frustrating red tape.
“We don’t know whether or not he had travel insurance and the companies make it too difficult to find out. It’s impossible to access the information.”
The Sule family’s plea for assistance resonates deeply, reported Yahoo.
“The support, prayers, and kind messages mean the world to us. But we are still drowning in costs, and time is running out. Any donation, no matter how small, will help keep Okemena alive and ensure he receives the care he urgently needs. If you cannot donate, please share this campaign with your friends and family.”
