A hungry foreign tourist made an unforgettable entrance into a dim sum restaurant in Chalong in Phuket yesterday driving his motorbike straight into the eatery and causing a stir on social media.

CCTV footage captured the bizarre moment yesterday, January 15, as the tourist lost control of his bike, crashing into a parked motorcycle and a table at Mangmee Dim Sum, which was bustling with customers at the time. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the damage was minor.

The incident quickly gained online fame after Facebook user Amphika Giew shared the footage, cheekily captioning it, “Whenever you’re hungry, stop by.”

The post went viral, sparking a wave of playful comments.

“The food must be so delicious you can’t stop.”

“No need to fight over a table like that!”

Some commenters praised the tourist’s politeness, noting his traditional Thai wai as an immediate apology.

“The wai is beautiful, good that no one got hurt.”

The restaurant owner, far from holding a grudge, shared her understanding of the tourist’s embarrassment.

“He was embarrassed and sorry. I don’t hold a grudge.”

Despite the chaos, the unexpected incident has brought a burst of attention to the modest dim sum shop, reported The Phuket News.

“A grand entrance like that deserves a round of applause!”

In related news, in August last year, two Chinese tourists had a close call in Pattaya after their big bike crashed into a coffee shop fence, leaving onlookers stunned but, fortunately, unscathed.

Pattaya police were alerted to a motorbike accident at a coffee shop near the Dolphin Roundabout in North Pattaya. Responding swiftly, officers and rescue volunteers arrived at the chaotic scene to find a mangled bike lodged in the fence.

In other news, an allegedly drunk motorcyclist lost control and crashed his motorcycle into a repair shop in Pattaya, resulting in serious injuries.
