A mysterious figure was seen throwing objects from an abandoned building at Waterfront, Bali Hai Pier, Pattaya.

A Facebook user posted a video clip in the Pattaya Facebook group on Monday, September 30. In the clip, an unknown figure is seen throwing objects that looked like long white sticks, measuring more than 3 metres long, off the balcony of an abandoned building in Pattaya. The object was thrown from about the 20th floor, sparking much curiosity among those who saw the incident.

Later in the evening, reporters went to inspect the abandoned building, which is a 53-story luxury condominium and hotel project, or Waterfront, located at Bali Hai Pier, South Pattaya. This project has been suspended since late 2008 and was in the news in late 2013 when the former mayor of Pattaya was prosecuted.

When the news team arrived, they found a group of workers cleaning and moving things out of the building, mostly iron bars and aluminium bars.

When asked, one of the workers replied, “The boss ordered us to clean and move things out of the building because almost everything in the building has been stolen.”

Panthawat Phimsakun, or Lawyer Kan, a lawyer for Bali Hai Company Limited, revealed that this building is in the process of being auctioned off but it has not yet been sold, even after more than 10 years.

During this time, thieves have broken in to steal objects and ransacked the property inside the building. In addition, there have been groups of homeless people who have moved in to live and destroyed property inside the building.

Lawyer Kan added that he has now sent workers to clean and move all the things on the building down to reduce the risk of accidents in the future, especially if there is a storm or rain, parts installed on the top of the building may fall and injure locals and tourists. He confirmed that he will expedite the cleaning process as soon as possible and will supervise to ensure that the public is not affected, reported KhaoSod.
