The unfortunate victim was identified as Pho Thank Kyar, a national of Myanmar, whose body was discovered inside the grinding machine in a horrifically mutilated state due to the severe injuries he sustained. To extricate his body from the machine, rescue workers had to employ a hydraulic cutter.

One of the victim’s colleagues, a 23 year old man identified only as Somchai, offered some insight into the incident. According to Somchai, Pho was a worker tasked with operating multiple machines at the factory. It was part of his routine to crawl inside the machine every morning to ensure it was functioning properly and to carry out any necessary cleaning, reported The Pattaya News.

Somchai recounted to The Pattaya News that on the day of the incident, he heard the machine begin to move and then abruptly stop while Pho was conducting a functionality check. He expressed his bewilderment at why the machine was operational while Pho was still inside. Somchai speculated that someone may have inadvertently activated the machine, oblivious to the fact that Pho was within it. He further noted that Pho was not a novice but an experienced technician.

To unravel the mystery behind the tragic event, the police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the factory to determine if anyone activated the machine. Depending on the findings, further legal action may be pursued.

To facilitate an unimpeded investigation, the police have refrained from disclosing the name of the factory and its management or ownership. Emphasising the severity of the incident, the police are committed to conducting a thorough investigation into this tragic accident.
