Massive fight in Pattaya sparked by dog bite incident
A dog bite sparked a massive fight involving over 20 people in Soi Kor Phai 14 in Pattaya’s Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chon Buri province, on Monday night.
The daily rental room was the site of the clash. At 9.36pm, Monday, April 1, Pattaya police received a call and officers arrived at the scene to find a large group embroiled in a fierce confrontation. The officers were able to successfully disentangle the two warring parties and restore tranquillity to the area.
The police report revealed that a 25 year old Burmese national, identified as Myo Zawoo Ci, was wounded in the chaos. Myo, responsible for overseeing the rental rooms, was struck on the head with a solid object, leading to a severe laceration and profuse bleeding. He was promptly transported to a nearby hospital by rescue personnel.
Post the incident, all the participants were escorted to the Pattaya Police Station for a thorough investigation. A 17 year old participant, known only as Natthawat, shared his side of the story.
He revealed that he, along with a group of construction workers, had rented a room at the property. As they were offloading their possessions from their vehicle, a dog bit Natthawat on his left leg.
Following the bite, Natthawat sought medical treatment and then returned to the property to request compensation from the dog’s owner. The disagreement over the compensation amount spiralled out of control when one of Natthawat’s colleagues struck Myo on the head with a metal pipe.
Amid the turmoil, the dog, a male of around two to three years old with black and white fur, was observed quietly sipping water and observing the brawl.
Pattaya police officers are currently conducting a thorough examination of the episode and are expected to take appropriate action against those implicated in the incident, reported Pattaya News.
