Jealous ex pulls gun in Pattaya nightclub chaos

A night of fun turned into panic when a jealous ex-boyfriend pulled a gun inside a Pattaya nightclub, mistaking a waiter for his ex-wife’s new lover.

The dramatic incident unfolded at a cocktail lounge in LK Metro, sending patrons into chaos and ending with the man’s swift arrest.

The incident occurred at 2.06am today, February 20, when Pattaya police received reports of an armed man causing a disturbance.

Upon arrival, they found the nightclub in disarray, with 28 year old Nok visibly shaken and the 40 year old waiter waiting to provide his statement.

Security staff had already restrained the suspect, identified as 33 year old Surachet.

According to the police, Surachet was carrying a .38 calibre revolver loaded with five rounds of ammunition, along with a tanto knife. He was promptly arrested and taken to Pattaya Police Station for questioning.

Nok revealed to police that Surachet was her ex-boyfriend, whom she had ended her relationship with last year.

That night, he entered the nightclub, saw her talking to the waiter, and assumed he was her new boyfriend. Consumed by jealousy, he began mocking and harassing her before physically attacking the waiter.

Security staff intervened but Surachet escalated the situation by drawing his gun, causing widespread panic.

During police questioning, Surachet admitted to owning the firearm but claimed he had no intention of harming anyone. He insisted he only drew the weapon in self-defence after security restrained him.

He also admitted to losing his temper upon seeing the waiter behaving flirtatiously toward his ex-girlfriend, reported The Pattaya News.

Police are investigating the incident, including verifying the legality of the firearm and conducting drug and alcohol tests on the suspect. Surachet is expected to face multiple charges as the investigation continues.
