A Thai woman endured months of harassment after her address was used by a scammer to trick men into paying for sex services and arranging fake meetings at her residence.

The 53 year old victim, Thanida, sought help from social media influencer Guntouch “Gun” Pongpaiboonwet, prompting Gun and his team to meet her at Bang Yai Police Station in Nonthaburi province near Bangkok, today, February 20.

According to Thanida, the scammer, later identified as a 29 year old woman, advertised sex services online. After men contacted her, she asked them to transfer payment for the service and directed them to meet her at an address. However, the address she provided belonged to Thanida.

This caused numerous strangers to arrive at Thanida’s home seeking sex services. Some left after realising they were scammed but others became angry and demanded their money back from Thanida.

Thanida revealed that the first incident occurred late last year when a man came to her home and asked about the sex service they had discussed online. He left after realising he was duped.

Another man visited her residence on January 29, showing her a receipt for the payment he had made. Thanida explained the situation to him and he eventually left.

One man, however, angrily banged on her door upon arrival. After learning he was scammed, he demanded that Thanida refund him 700 baht. Fortunately, a security guard intervened.

As time went on, more people, including men and tomboys, came to her home. Some frightened Thanida by exposing themselves or displaying condoms in front of her room.

In an attempt to deter visitors, Thanida posted a picture of the scammer outside her home along with a message explaining the situation. However, this did not resolve the problem, and people continued to show up, prompting her to seek assistance from Gun.

Through Gun’s coordination, the police managed to suspend the scammer’s bank account. Records revealed that the woman had a history of criminal activity, having been arrested multiple times for drug-related and theft offences since the age of 22.

Police have stated they will issue a summons for the scammer to appear at the station. If she fails to comply, an arrest warrant will be issued.
