Dealers resist arrest in violent drug bust in Pattaya’s Jomtien
Police uncover major meth ring as dealers clash with officers during Jomtien bust

A chaotic scene unfolded in Jomtien in Pattaya as police raided a drug operation after reports of a man attacking civilians and claiming his father was a police officer.
The arrest quickly turned violent, with one dealer injuring an officer, but both suspects were captured, revealing a major meth operation in the area.
Yesterday, May 2 at 4.36pm, Lieutenant Colonel Prasit Boonprasit, head of the Pattaya City Police Drug Suppression Unit, led an investigation in Jomtien Soi 3 after reports of a man in a frenzied state attacking civilians and kicking cars, while loudly claiming his father was a police officer.
The incident had caused widespread panic among residents, and CCTV footage traced the man’s vehicle from Jomtien Beach Soi 3. Fearing the situation was connected to drug activity, police swiftly responded, following orders to target drug-related crimes in the area.
Upon their arrival, officers uncovered an ongoing illegal drug operation, with dealers openly conducting transactions without fear of the law. When the police attempted to make arrests, one of the dealers violently resisted, kicking and punching an officer, injuring his face.
Despite the aggressive resistance, the suspect was eventually subdued and arrested, with police finding 50 meth pills in one bag, two additional bags containing 10 pills each, one bag with 8 pills, and four bags of crystal meth totalling 78 pills, weighing 3.15 grammes.
Another dealer was apprehended shortly after, with 50 meth pills in his possession. Both suspects later confessed to selling drugs in the area and explained that they targeted times when police shifts changed to avoid detection. They also admitted to earning tens of thousands of baht in monthly profits, while alleging they had previously been extorted by fake police officers.
The suspects and the confiscated drugs were transported to Pattaya City Police Station for further questioning. Officers are investigating the larger drug suppliers who have been distributing to smaller dealers in Pattaya and surrounding areas, reported The Pattaya News.
Despite extensive raids in the area, as reported by TPN Media, and the destruction of numerous shacks and temporary structures, the drug problem persists. Much of the debris from these structures remains, continuing to cause issues in Jomtien.
The names and ages of the suspects have not been released by police as legal proceedings are underway.
