Wheel of misfortune: Truck tyre crashes into repair shop, injures 2

A large truck tyre mysteriously fell and rolled into a motorcycle repair shop in Samut Prakan, injuring two people.
Atchara, a 29 year old customer from Chanthaburi, sustained a head injury, while the shop owner suffered minor shoulder bruises.
Police from Bang Kaeo Police Station responded to the incident at 9.30pm yesterday, February 20. The incident occurred at a motorcycle repair shop in Racha Thewa subdistrict, Bang Phli district. The Poh Teck Tung Foundation accompanied the police to the scene.
At the repair shop’s entrance, the two injured individuals were identified. Atchara was struck on the neck by the tyre, causing her head to hit the ground and bleed.
The other injured person, 18 year old mechanic Vasan, suffered minor bruises on his left shoulder. A large truck tyre was found lying nearby.
Atchara recounted that she had just arrived at the shop to have her motorcycle chain adjusted. While standing with her back to the road, watching the mechanic, a tyre from an unknown direction struck her neck, causing her head to hit the ground.

The mechanic, Vasan, explained he was standing near Atchara when a large truck tyre unexpectedly rolled in from the front of the shop, hitting the customer and then bouncing off his shoulder. Surveillance camera footage from 8.52pm showed the tyre rolling in from King Kaew road, striking both Atchara and Vasan.
Police at Bang Kaeo Police Station initially suspected the tyre fell from a passing vehicle due to the poor road conditions. The jolt from the uneven surface may have caused the tyre to dislodge and roll into the shop.
Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage to identify the vehicle from which the tyre fell, aiming to pursue legal action against the responsible party, reported KhaoSod.
In other news, a 50 year old electrician in Samut Prakan was hit by an unidentified vehicle, causing him to fall and be fatally run over by a lorry. The incident was witnessed by a taxi driver who promptly alerted the lorry driver.
