The Meteorological Department of Thailand (TMD) issued a warning about a significant drop in temperature across Thailand due to a cold air mass, leading to cooler weather across various regions. Affected areas include the northern, northeastern, and central parts of the country, with particularly frigid conditions on mountaintops.

The TMD reported a northeast monsoon sweeping across the Gulf of Thailand, the southern region, and the Andaman Sea is of moderate intensity, causing isolated thunderstorms in the south. Areas with thunderstorms may experience waves exceeding 2 metres.

Dust accumulation in the upper parts of Thailand is within moderate to high levels but it is expected to decrease due to improved air circulation and stronger winds. Additionally, there is a caution regarding fire hazards that may arise due to dry conditions and strong winds.

In the central region, residents will wake up to cold weather with temperatures ranging from 15 to 19 degrees Celsius (°C) in the morning and reaching a maximum of 30 to 32°C during the day.

The eastern region will experience cool mornings with temperatures between 16 and 22°C and a peak of 31 to 34°C later in the day. Sea conditions will feature waves about one meter high, increasing to 1 to 2 metres offshore.

The upper southern region will have cool mornings and scattered thunderstorms, with 30% of the area, particularly in provinces like Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat, experiencing rainfall.
