Thai uni student’s lucky escape as car goes up in flames

A 20 year old student from a renowned university got the fright of his life when his car caught fire while driving home.
The incident unfolded yesterday, March 4, at 6.30pm when a fire broke out in a black Ford sedan on outbound Phahon Yothin Road, Pathum Thani, causing significant traffic disruption.
The Rangsit Municipal Fire Department promptly responded to reports of the blaze near the Prachathipat subdistrict, Thanyaburi district.
Firefighters, along with volunteers from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation, quickly arrived at the scene with fire engines to extinguish the fire.
Upon arrival, they found the vehicle engulfed in flames, halting traffic flow on the road. The driver, Kritsada, managed to escape the vehicle unharmed but was in a state of shock.
The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes, preventing further damage to the car.

Kritsada recounted the incident.
“While I was driving home to Nava Nakorn, I was startled by the sound of a car horn from a vehicle behind me. Shortly thereafter, smoke began coming from the car’s bonnet, followed by flames.
“I quickly exited the vehicle as smoke filled the interior. A bystander then notified the fire department.”
Kritsada added that the vehicle had not undergone any modifications or repairs and he regularly used gasohol 95 petrol. He was alone in the car during the incident and, fortunately escaped without injury, reported KhaoSod.
Officers from Pratunam Chulalongkorn Police Station documented the incident and are coordinating with forensic officials to investigate the cause of the fire.
In similar news, a man escaped unharmed when his car, a Honda Accord, equipped with an LPG system, caught fire shortly after he started the engine.
The incident occurred at 7pm on January 12 at a parking lot behind Thammasat University Examination Centre in Rangsit, Pathum Thani province.
An LPG system in a car is a fuel system that allows the vehicle to run on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) alongside gasoline. It is usually fitted to achieve better gasoline mileage.
