Pattaya police introduce mobile app to boost tourist safety

Pattaya City Police Station has unveiled the PATTAYA SAFETY application to boost tourist safety. Superintendent Police Colonel Navin Theerawit announced this innovative app designed to enhance the safety of Thai and international tourists visiting the vibrant city of Pattaya.

Developed under the provincial police’s guidance, the PATTAYA SAFETY app acts as a comprehensive platform for incident reporting, tip submission, and direct communication with authorities around the clock.

“This app is a game-changer for tourist safety.”

The app boasts an array of features tailored to assist users during emergencies and address safety concerns. Key functionalities include online incident reporting, the ability to submit anonymous tips, and identity verification through E-KYC standards. Users can track the real-time status of their reports, ensuring transparency and efficiency.

A standout feature is the SOS button, which grants quick access to emergency assistance. Additionally, a real-time chat function allows direct communication with police officers. The app supports Thai and English languages and offers an emergency contact number for immediate help.

Pol. Col. Navin emphasised that the app is user-friendly.

“Simply search for the ID ‘PATTAYA SAFETY’ on LINE to add the app.”

Available for download on both the App Store and Google Play, the app also provides the latest news and updates about Pattaya.

By facilitating direct communication between tourists and police, the PATTAYA SAFETY app ensures precise location reporting during incidents for accurate and swift response, reported Pattaya Mail.

Pol. Col. Navin urged the public and tourists to download the app, highlighting its critical role in enhancing safety and response times in Pattaya.

“Our officers are available 24/7 through the app, providing continuous support to ensure a safer environment for everyone.”

In related news, Sophon Suwannarat, the Governor of Phuket, hosted Mark Gooding, the British Ambassador to Thailand, in a meeting on May 7, focusing on the safety of tourists.
