The decision to relocate was prompted by growing dissatisfaction among the contestants, which quickly spread on social media.

The Miss Grand International Organisation had initially planned a formal dinner on a boat in Phnom Penh. However, participants were surprised to find themselves on a wooden vessel furnished with plastic chairs and served boiled peanuts as snacks. This experience, shared by contestants from 75 countries, led to widespread disappointment and concern.

Among the returning contestants on Monday, October 7 at 8.15pm, was Miss Grand Thailand 2024, Malin Charanan. Upon her arrival, she expressed her relief and joy to be back in Thailand.

“I’m so happy to be home. It’s hard to describe. Thank you so much to everyone who came to welcome us. We want everyone to know this is Thailand, the Land of Smiles.”

Malin highlighted the safety concerns and limited food options during the boat ride in Phnom Penh. Despite the setbacks, she shared her enthusiasm for the upcoming activities in Thailand, which include a visit to Wat Arun and a river cruise on the Chao Phraya with a proper buffet.

The Miss Grand International organization has announced that it will resume its activities in Thailand. A press conference, led by the pageant’s founder Nawat Itsaragrisil, is scheduled for tomorrow, October 10, to address the issues encountered in Cambodia, reported Pattaya News.
