Heavy rainfall floods Samut Prakan roads, causing traffic chaos

Heavy rainfall led to significant flooding on several roads, resulting in traffic congestion spanning several kilometres and numerous damaged vehicles in Samut Prakan.
Municipal officers are actively working to drain water from the road surfaces. This morning, April 7, in Samut Prakan province, a downpour lasting nearly an hour caused flooding on various roads in Mueang district. In some areas, water levels reached halfway up car doors.
On Phraeksa Road, from the front of Wat Phraeksa to Rasamee Anant Market, the water level rose to the height of the footpath, making it impassable for small vehicles.
Similarly, on Srinagarindra Road, from the Kanchanaphisek Expressway exit towards the Electricity Authority intersection, water levels reached around 20 centimetres in the left lane, although vehicles could still pass.

Reporters visiting the scene on Phraeksa Road, from Wat Phraeksa to Rasamee Anant Market in Phraeksa subdistrict, Mueang district, observed the most severe flooding. The water was as high as a motorcycle, causing many motorcycles and cars to stall. Consequently, traffic on Phraeksa Road was heavily congested.
Municipal officers in the area have mobilised water pumps to expedite drainage from the road surfaces. If there is no further rainfall, conditions are expected to return to normal by the afternoon or evening, reported KhaoSod.
In similar news, in Phatthalung province, 13 families were shocked when they were abruptly awakened in the middle of the night by water flooding their homes, despite no rainfall in the area.
The incident occurred on April 2 in Mueang 6, Makok Nuea subdistrict, Khuan Khanun district. Locals were caught off guard by the sudden rise in water levels, forcing them to quickly move their belongings to higher ground.
Yotphat Tho Saeng, a 39 year old resident, expressed confusion about the unexpected flooding, as there had been no rain. The swift flooding left little time for residents to salvage their possessions.
