Thai man jumps from cop shop after actress accuses him of fraud

A Thai man jumped from the third floor of a police station in Bangkok after being accused by a Thai actress of tricking her into marrying him and using the names of prominent politicians and even the royal family to defraud her of money.
The 33 year old actress, Rinyarat “Kana” Watchararojsiri, sought help from social media influencer Guntouch “Gun” Pongpaiboonwet, as she wanted to expose the deceitful behaviour of her ex-boyfriend. She appeared on the Hone Krasae news programme on Channel 3 today, April 7, to reveal the details of the case.
Kana explained that she met her ex-boyfriend on a dating application. Although he was not her type, she gave him a chance because he took care of her and made a concerted effort to win her over. He proposed to her even though they had been in a relationship for less than a month.
Kana stated that the man claimed he worked for the government and was a personal advisor to Thailand Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. When she tried to verify his claims, he told her she would not find any information because he served as a secret advisor to the PM.
The actress said her ex-boyfriend often wore an all-white civil servant uniform. Whenever he travelled, he was accompanied by bodyguards. He usually arrived at her home with officials on two motorcycles and bodyguards in two separate cars.

He also claimed to work closely with the royal family and promised to introduce her to its members. He claimed to know numerous influential people, including the royal secretary to the King of Thailand, former PM Thaksin Shinawatra, and several prominent Thai male celebrities.

However, Kana revealed that she did not want to marry him, seeing they had just been in a relationship. Despite this, the man presented her with a document indicating he had already sought a royal grant for their wedding, which made her feel unable to refuse or postpone the ceremony.
Although Kana was confident she had done nothing illegal, she was frightened and allowed him to assist her. He showed her a screenshot of a conversation with the PM and claimed the PM promised to protect her.
The man then asked Kana to transfer him 90,000 baht to buy champagne to thank the PM for the support, and she complied. Kana added that she also bought multiple designer brands and luxury items for him as gifts.
The actress ended the relationship immediately and later discovered that all of his claims, including those about her business partner’s alleged criminal activity, were false. Moreover, she found that she was not his only victim, as other women had been similarly deceived.

While Kana was speaking to the media, the accused man allegedly caused a commotion by attempting to take his own life. He was spotted standing on the third-floor balcony of his home, appearing as if he were about to jump.
In a brief statement to the media, the man denied Kana’s allegations and accused her of blackmail. He said he attempted suicide because he believed he was not receiving justice.

Officers asked him to undergo a drug test before further questioning. However, during the procedure, he seized the opportunity to jump from the third floor of the police station. He landed on the roof of the car park before hitting the ground.
The man was rushed to a hospital, and the police have yet to provide an update on his condition or the progress of the case.
