Emergency services, investigative teams, and a doctor were dispatched to the scene. Villagers were found assisting in retrieving the body of the 44 year old man, a resident of Tha Fak subdistrict, Nam Pat district, Uttaradit province, from the pond, which is approximately 2 metres deep.

A black Honda Wave motorcycle with the registration 1 กฌ 6353 Buriram was submerged in the water. Preliminary examination by officials found no signs of physical assault, and it was estimated that the man had been dead for more than four hours.

Residents detailed hearing the loud sound of a motorcycle speeding out of the village. Those who heard the commotion expressed concern, wondering whether the elderly man will make it. After the sound of the motorcycle faded, a villager driving in the opposite direction claimed to have nearly collided with the deceased’s motorcycle. Eventually, the body was found in the pond, believed to have crashed into a dok rak tree before falling into the water.

The 31 year old woman, who owns the motorcycle, stated that the deceased took the vehicle from her house without any permission. She expressed frustration and uncertainty about pursuing any charges. The body was sent to the hospital for further examination, and the investigation will continue in accordance with legal procedures, reported KhaoSod.
