Drunk motorcyclist dies in tragic crash in Chon Buri
A tragic motorcycle accident occurred earlier today resulting in the immediate death of a drunk motorcyclist. The incident took place today, July 19, along a curvy section on the Nong Kho-Nern Tong road in Nong Kham, Si Racha district, Chon Buri province.
At around 12.20am, Deputy Inspector Somwang Potiphan from Nong Kham Police Station received a report of a motorcycle crashing into an oncoming car. The accident resulted in the motorcyclist’s death at the scene. Emergency responders from Pure Yeang Tai Sri Racha were dispatched to the location following the report.
Upon arrival, responders found the deceased motorcyclist, identified as 41 year old Arun, next to his severely damaged black Yamaha motorcycle.
Friends of the deceased arrived at the scene shortly after and revealed that they had been drinking together before parting ways. Arun intended to continue partying, leading to the unfortunate accident. A strong smell of alcohol was still emanating from the deceased’s body.
The driver of the white Toyota sedan, identified as 50 year old Narent, recounted the events leading up to the crash. He explained that he was driving towards Noen Tong when the motorcyclist lost control at high speed, veering into his lane and crashing violently into the driver’s side of his car.
The high-speed accident caused significant damage to the side of the vehicle and resulted in the immediate death of the drunk motorcyclist.
Police have taken Narent in for further questioning to determine the exact cause of the accident. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been transported to Laem Chabang Hospital by the Pure Yeang Tai Sri Racha rescue team for an autopsy to be conducted by medical professionals, reported KhaoSod.
This tragic event is a stark reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol. The police will continue their investigation to gather more details surrounding the circumstances of the accident.
