A generous man in Chiang Rai is offering free, high-quality filtered water 24 hours a day to anyone in need due to the recent floods. Those without access to tap water can contact him directly, and a hose over 50 metres long ensures easy access to their vehicles.

Widespread flooding in Chiang Rai caused significant damage yesterday, disrupting daily life for many residents, particularly in Mae Sai district. The floods affected food supplies, drinking water, and electricity, and left behind thick mud. The difficult circumstances have made relief efforts challenging.

Peerapong Amornpich, a local, posted on Facebook offering free filtered water to anyone affected by the water shortage. His post reads:

“Open 24 hours. If tap water isn’t flowing, come to my house. Unlimited free filtered water from a high-quality underground source. The water pressure is strong, so it fills quickly. Don’t worry about time, the hose is over 50 meters long and can reach your car.”

Peerapong’s offer extends to hotels and dormitories, which are encouraged to collect as much water as needed without hesitation. He assured that the underground water source, connected to the Kok River, is plentiful enough to supply the entire Chiang Rai area.

“Hotels and dormitories, feel free to come and get as much water as you need. It’s free. The underground water connected to the Kok River can supply the whole of Chiang Rai. I stay up late and sleep lightly, so you can wake me if needed.”

Peerapong emphasised the minimal cost of electricity required to pump the water, likening the amount to the volume of 100 Olympic-sized swimming pools. He clarified that since the water is from an underground source filtered at no extra cost, he has no issues offering it freely.

For those needing larger quantities, Peerapong has a food-grade plastic tank that fits in the back of a four-door pickup truck, although he does not have a truck to deliver it. He invites hotels and other establishments to borrow the tank and return it after use, so others can benefit, reported KhaoSod.

Peerapong’s address is Peerapong Corporation Co., Ltd., 99/9 Moo 4, Rim Kok subdistrict, Mueang district, Chiang Rai province 57100. He can be contacted at 084-8489-000.
