Central Thailand: Farmer injured by bull decides to sell all cattle

A Thai farmer immediately announced the sale of his bull after being seriously injured by the animal. The farmer, who has been repeatedly hurt by the animal, no longer wishes to keep it. The incident occurred yesterday, July 23, in the Si Maha Phot district of Prachin Buri province.

The rescue unit from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation was alerted to the incident and promptly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they found 58 year old Chompoo Saepang suffering from severe pain in his left rib area. He urgently requested to be transported to the hospital.

“I can’t bear the pain anymore. Please take me to the hospital quickly.”

The rescue team immediately complied and took him to the hospital.

Medical examination revealed that Chompoo’s left rib was fractured due to the impact of one of his bulls. Chompoo explained that he owns five Brahman crossbreed cattle, consisting of two females and three males.

The attack happened when he was trying to herd the cattle into their pen. A five year old bull named Daeng Yai, weighing nearly 400 kilogrammes, charged at him forcefully, resulting in the injury.

Chompoo mentioned that this was the second time Daeng Yai had caused him to be hospitalised. Although the bull frequently rammed into him, the previous incidents were not as severe. This time, however, the injury was much more serious, prompting Chompoo to decide to sell all his cattle, reported KhaoSod.

“I don’t want to keep them anymore since they keep hurting me.”

In related news, a frenzied cow in Sattahip, Chon Buri province, injured its caretaker by ramming him against a wall, causing severe injuries and triggering a chaotic rescue attempt. Locals and rescue workers struggled to retrieve the injured man as the agitated cow continued to charge at them, forcing them to flee.
