Boat with four people vanishes en route to Sukorn Island
A passenger boat named Pornthavee, carrying four individuals, including the driver, disappeared amidst a storm while en route to Sukorn Island. Despite extensive search efforts, the boat remains missing.
The boat, captained by Supit Khaodee, who is also known as Bang Poo, departed from Khlong Palian in Trang province heading towards Sukorn Island. Alongside Supit were three passengers: Fak Khaodee, Chan Songlong, and Mon Madlu. During their journey, the boat encountered severe weather conditions, including a powerful storm and strong winds, causing it to vanish without a trace.
An SOS alert was issued to the maritime community, particularly in the Trang and Satun provinces, urging all sailors and fishermen to assist in locating the missing vessel. The local officials, comprising the Tambon Administrative Organisation (TAO) of Sukorn Island, marine police, and water rescue teams, have been actively involved in the search. They have scoured the waters in both the Palian district of Trang and the Thung Wa district of Satun, but their efforts have so far been unsuccessful, reported KhaoSod.
“We urge all sailors, especially those navigating the Tha Kham-Sukorn route or nearby areas, to report any sightings of the missing boat or its passengers immediately,” a local official stated.
Information can be relayed to the chief of the Sukorn Island TAO at (089) 723-6129 or the deputy chief at (080) 533-8908.
