Ayutthaya buffalo trader’s home attacked with grenades, no injuries

A buffalo trader in Ayutthaya was left in shock after unidentified persons threw grenades at his home, causing significant damage.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, April 9, in Phra Ya Ban Lue subdistrict, Lat Bua Luang district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province. The attack resulted in three damaged vehicles and frightened livestock, though fortunately, no one was harmed.
The victim, 32 year old Bungmat, recounted that the attack took place at 4.51am, while he was out delivering cattle to customers.
At home, his wife, child, and elderly mother were present. Upon hearing the news from his distressed wife, he returned to find extensive damage to their property.
CCTV footage captured a suspicious male approaching the buffalo pen and throwing two grenades at the house, causing loud explosions that broke all the windows and left the vehicles damaged, with burst tyres and the carport roof riddled with holes.
Bungmat, who has been in the cattle trading business for over 15 years without any known rivals, expressed his confusion over the motive, stating he has had no disputes with anyone. He is urging the police to swiftly apprehend those responsible, as his family remains anxious and fearful of a repeat attack.
His wife, Nadjwa, described being startled awake by two loud explosions, initially mistaking them for a pneumatic pump malfunction. Upon investigating, she discovered a crater and grenade pins outside their home, confirming an intentional attack, reported KhaoSod.
Despite notifying the police, the family remains uneasy until those responsible are brought to justice.
Following the incident, police from Lat Bua Luang Police Station, along with investigative and forensic teams from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, examined the scene. They are gathering evidence to locate and prosecute the perpetrators as quickly as possible.
