Motorcycle and car collision in Ayutthaya claims life

A collision between a motorcycle and a car resulted in one fatality. The incident occurred at 7.30pm, yesterday, April 9, on Asia Road heading towards Bangkok in Bang Pa-in district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province.
The dead man was identified as 32 year old Laotian, Rattanaporn, whose bag contained several methamphetamine pills.
At the scene, a black Honda Wave motorcycle with significant front-end damage and a black Honda sedan, driven by 50 year old Walaivanpha, were found.
Walaivanpha, visibly shaken, recounted that while driving back from Nakhon Sawan province and preparing to turn left for a meal, a motorcycle driving against traffic collided forcefully with her vehicle, deploying the airbags. Upon exiting her car, she discovered the injured motorcycle rider.

A colleague of Rattanaporn later confirmed his identity, mentioning that he was a welder working at a nearby factory, just 500 metres from the incident site.
Initial police investigations suggest that the motorcyclist was riding against the traffic to return home and failed to notice the turning car, leading to the collision. The dark conditions may have contributed to the drivers’ inability to see each other.
Police plan to question Walaivanpha further at Bang Pa-in Police Station and will send the dead man’s body for an autopsy at the Institute of Forensic Science in Pathum Thani province. Arrangements will be made to hand over the body to the family for religious rites.
In similar news, a fatal accident took place on the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway in Bangkok’s Klong Toei district when a car collided with the rear of a stationary six-wheel truck. The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while a male front-seat passenger sustained serious injuries.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Phakamart Kamonsan from Expressway Police Station 1, along with rescue workers and medical personnel, responded to the crash on April 6.
They found a white Isuzu six-wheel truck equipped with a crane, bearing the registration number 54-3028 Bangkok, parked in the far-right lane.
