A significant drug bust occurred in Pathum Thani when Thai police swooped to arrest a 28 year old man. A large cache of drugs was seized, including 100,000 methamphetamine pills, ice, ecstasy, heroin, and ketamine. This operation was conducted by the Metropolitan Police Bureau, led by various high-ranking officials, including Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom.

The arrest of Theeraphong, also known as Joe Rangsit, took place on February 22 at approximately 10pm. The arrest occurred near a car park opposite Klong 1 Place Apartments in Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok 19, Pathum Thani.

The police found a significant quantity of drugs and weapons in his possession, including a semi-automatic pistol, ammunition, a digital scale, and a black Mazda 3 vehicle.

The investigation into Joe Rangsit was part of a broader government initiative to combat drug trafficking in Bangkok and surrounding areas.

The operation focused on suspected drug activities in the Klong 1 area of Rangsit, leading to surveillance and subsequent arrest. The suspect’s vehicle matched a description provided by informants, leading officers to detain him.

During questioning, Joe admitted to his involvement in drug distribution in the Rangsit-Pathum Thani area. He had previously served time in prison for murder before being released in 2019.

Post-release, he managed a snooker club while continuing drug distribution, using profits from drug sales to supplement his income.

Joe faces multiple charges, including the distribution of category 1 drugs (methamphetamine, Ice, heroin, and ecstasy) and category 2 drugs (ketamine).

He was charged with having these substances with the intent to distribute, violating laws with actions that threaten public safety and state security. He also faces charges for possession of firearms and ammunition without proper permits, reported KhaoSod.

Following his arrest, Joe was taken to the Narcotics Suppression Bureau for further legal proceedings. The case underlines ongoing efforts to crack down on illegal drug activities in the region.
