Thai woman arrested in Samut Prakan for selling explicit content

A woman was arrested in Samut Prakan after police discovered she had been filming explicit outdoor videos with strangers and selling the content online.

Police swooped on 42 year old Larinya (surname withheld) today, November 18, following a court-approved search warrant. The arrest was the result of an investigation into explicit content being distributed via social media platforms to a secret online group with over 200,000 followers.

According to police, Larinya had been creating adult content in public places for more than four years, recruiting strangers to take part in her videos, without payment, before uploading the clips to paid subscription channels. She allegedly earned around 60,000 to 100,000 baht per month from her followers.

The woman told officers that she had quit her previous job and turned to producing pornographic material full-time, often enlisting her boyfriend to act as cameraman. The couple would search for secluded areas and, if they found someone alone, invite them to touch her or engage in sex acts on camera. Once filmed, the pair would part ways with their participant and upload the content for profit.

The arrest operation was led by Police Lieutenant General Siam Bunsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, along with officers from the Crime Suppression Division and the Investigation Division 3. Police had earlier identified Larinya from one of the explicit videos circulating online and tracked her down to a residence in Bang Mueang subdistrict, Mueang district, Samut Prakan.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: “The suspect was introducing obscene computer data accessible to the public, and engaging in the production, possession, and distribution of pornographic content for commercial purposes.”

Larinya now faces multiple charges, including importing obscene content into a computer system, publicly distributing pornography, and commercial production of obscene material for trade or rent, reported KhaoSod.

The suspect has been handed over to investigators at Samut Prakan City Police Station, where further legal proceedings are underway.

Police warn that the case is part of an ongoing crackdown on digital sex crimes, particularly those involving public spaces or unsuspecting individuals. More arrests may follow as the investigation expands.
