Condo thieves caught after gunpoint dispute over stolen goods

Two thieves were caught after stealing packages from residents of a condominium. A disagreement over the division of stolen goods escalated to one of them pointing a gun at the other’s head. Police arrested one suspect, who claimed the argument was about money.
Yesterday, February 17, CCTV footage from a condominium captured two young men arguing about dividing stolen packages. The altercation escalated to the point where one suspect, identified as Thanachot, pointed a gun at Chonlathit.
The victims, residents of the condominium, reported the thefts to Wang Thonglang Police Station, as similar incidents had occurred several times.
One victim explained that they frequently buy products online but their packages often go missing. On February 14, the latest incident occurred when a delivery person left a package at the lobby at the victim’s request.
By the time the victim went to collect it, the package was already gone. Despite multiple occurrences, the culprits remained unknown until it was discovered that they lived within the same condominium.
Officers at Wang Thonglang Police Station managed to arrest Thanachot. During interrogation, he confessed that he had been invited by a friend to help move some items, leading to a dispute over money and debts.
During the argument, he pointed a homemade gun at Chonlathit, who denied any involvement in the thefts. However, police were sceptical of this claim, reported KhaoSod.
Initially, charges were filed against Thanachot for possession of an unlicensed firearm, and bail was opposed due to his involvement in theft cases. Meanwhile, police are actively pursuing Chonlathit to proceed with legal action.

In similar news, an elderly man wearing a motorcycle taxi vest was caught on CCTV brazenly stealing a helmet outside a company on Soi Naklua 16, Wong Amat in Pattaya on February 11 at around 11.25am.
The incident has ignited a firestorm on social media, with many questioning whether the suspect is a legitimate motorbike taxi driver.
