Drunk Thai man found asleep next to Hello Kitty bike in Sattahip

A drunken man in Sattahip was found asleep on the roadside next to his motorcycle, which was decorated with a giant Hello Kitty plushie, prompting police intervention to prevent potential danger.
A concerned citizen alerted Sattahip Police Station’s radio centre, fearing the man might be at risk of an accident or criminal activity. Officers Police Sergeant Major Pongnaphat Chotchuang and Pol. Sgt. Maj. Theeranai Samahathai from the 1102 motorcycle patrol unit rushed to the scene near Chumphon Garden, Royal Thai Navy.
There, they found a red Honda Scoopy, parked against traffic near Sattahip Market, with an enormous Hello Kitty plushie strapped to the front. Just a few steps away, a man in his 40s, later identified as an ice delivery business owner, was passed out on the footpath.
When officers woke him, he panicked and shoved two inhalers up his nostrils, desperately trying to sober up. Despite insisting he could ride home, officers intervened, preventing a potential accident.
Instead, one officer rode the Hello Kitty bike, with the intoxicated man as a passenger, while the other followed closely behind, ensuring his safe arrival home, 2 kilometres away, reported Pattaya Mail.
Though heavily intoxicated, the man followed the Don’t Drink and Drive—Sleep It Off Instead principle, avoiding harm to himself and others. Meanwhile, the officers went beyond their duty, choosing compassion over punishment, ensuring he got home safely.
In similar news, a heavily intoxicated foreign man caused a stir after collapsing unconscious outside Pattaya Police Station, leaving bystanders and officers rushing to assist.
The unnamed tourist was found lying in the parking area on Sunday night, February 2, obstructing visitors from retrieving their vehicles.
Police and rescue workers assessed him and found no signs of injury, determining that excessive alcohol consumption had caused him to pass out.
His equally intoxicated girlfriend, fearing for his life, begged officers to take him to the hospital. However, they reassured her that he was simply heavily drunk and not in any immediate danger.
