The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has forecasted a slight increase in temperatures due to weakening cold air masses, alongside isolated thunderstorms in parts of the south for February 2.

The high-pressure system affecting upper Thailand is diminishing, resulting in a 1 to 2 degrees Celsius rise in temperature and morning fog. Northern and northeastern regions remain cool to cold, while the central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity, eastern, and southern regions, experience cool morning temperatures.

Residents, particularly those in mountainous areas experiencing cold to very cold conditions, are advised to maintain their health amid the persistent cool temperatures. The public is also warned to be cautious of fire hazards due to dry conditions and to drive carefully in foggy areas.

The weakened northeastern monsoon prevailing over the Gulf of Thailand and the south leads to waves around 1 metre high in the Gulf, with waves rising to 1 to 2 metres during thunderstorms.

Regarding dust and haze, the accumulation over upper Thailand remains moderate to high and is expected to increase due to weakening winds.

In the north, temperatures are cool to cold with morning fog and an increase of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperatures range from 13 to 19°C, with highs reaching 31 to 37°C.
