Thailand braces for temperature rise of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius
Temperatures across Thailand are set to rise by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius, as the nation experiences a fade in cold weather. Despite this, the mornings in the north and northeast will continue to be cool, with some areas in the south experiencing rainfall.
The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) forecasted the weather conditions for the next 24 hours, attributing this temperature rise to a weakening of the high-pressure system or cold air mass that currently envelops Thailand.
In the northern region, the weather will remain cool with the presence of fog in the morning. Some areas will experience dense fog. Temperatures will increase by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius, with light rain in some areas. The lower part of the region will experience the lowest temperature between 17 and 22 degrees Celsius, with the maximum reaching 31 and 33 degrees Celsius. Mountain peaks will be cold to cool, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 16 degrees Celsius.
The northeast will also continue to experience cool weather with some morning fog. Temperatures will rise by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature will range between 16 and 20 degrees Celsius, with the maximum reaching 31 and 33 degrees Celsius. The mountain peaks will be cold to cool, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 18 degrees Celsius.
In the central region, the weather will be cool with some morning fog. Temperatures will increase by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature will be between 20 and 22 degrees Celsius, with the maximum reaching 32 and 34 degrees Celsius, reported KhaoSod.
The eastern region will also experience cool weather with some morning fog. Temperatures will rise by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature will be between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius, with the maximum reaching 33 and 34 degrees Celsius. Sea waves will be about one metre high, reaching 1 to 2 metres off the coast.
Thunderstorms, heavy rain
In the south, on the east coast, there will be thunderstorms in 40% of the area, with heavy rain in some parts of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat provinces. The lowest temperature will be between 23 and 24 degrees Celsius, with the maximum reaching 27 and 33 degrees Celsius. Sea waves will be 1 to 2 metres high, reaching more than 2 metres in stormy areas.
On the western coast of the south, there will be thunderstorms in 30% of the area, mainly in Krabi, Trang, and Satun provinces. The lowest temperature will be between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius, with the highest reaching 30 and 34 degrees Celsius. Sea waves will be about one metre high, reaching more than 2 metres in stormy areas.
Bangkok and its surrounding provinces will experience some fog in the morning. Temperatures will increase by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature will be between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius, with the maximum reaching 33 and 35 degrees Celsius.
