The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) today forecasts increasing temperatures with hot weather during the day and thunderstorms expected in southern provinces of Thailand. Mariners have been advised to exercise caution due to the high seas.
In the next 24 hours, a weakened high-pressure system is affecting northeastern Thailand, resulting in cool morning temperatures and hot conditions during the day.
The central region, including Bangkok and surrounding areas, will see temperatures rise by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius, remaining cool with morning fog and heat in the afternoon. Mountain peaks will experience cold to very cold weather.
Residents are urged to take care of their health as weather conditions shift and to be cautious of fire hazards due to dry air. Additionally, caution is advised while travelling in foggy areas.
The northeast monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand, the south, and the Andaman Sea is weakening, leading to moderate sea conditions with waves approximately 1 metre high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves may exceed 1 metre. Mariners in the lower Gulf of Thailand should navigate with caution and avoid areas with thunderstorms.
Dust accumulation in upper Thailand is currently moderate to high, with an increasing trend due to weakening winds.
