TMD reigns it in: Heavy showers set to pour over 11 Thai provinces

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) issued a weather forecast warning of heavy rainfall affecting 11 provinces, with downpours expected to cover 40% of these areas. The upper regions of Thailand are experiencing hot weather, with temperatures reaching up to 39°C today, March 11.
Over the next 24 hours, the upper part of Thailand will remain hot during the day, with occasional light rain in eastern areas. Residents are advised to protect their health due to the high temperatures, which are a result of low atmospheric pressure over the upper regions, combined with easterly and southeasterly winds bringing moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.
The easterly and southeasterly winds affecting the Gulf of Thailand, the southern region, and the Andaman Sea are of moderate strength, causing heavy rain in some southern areas. Waves in the lower Gulf of Thailand are also moderate, with heights ranging from 1 to 2 metres.
The upper Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are seeing waves of approximately 1 metre, while areas with thunderstorms have waves exceeding 2 metres. Mariners are advised to exercise caution and avoid sailing in stormy areas.
Dust and haze accumulation in the upper regions of Thailand remains at moderate to high levels due to weak to moderate wind coverage.
