Heavy rain and storms to hit 28 Thai provinces including Bangkok

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued a warning for heavy rain affecting 28 provinces, including Bangkok, as residents prepare for severe weather conditions.
The forecast predicts thunderstorms, strong winds, and a drop in temperature starting today, March 14, with the weather expected to remain volatile.
The TMD forecasts that in the next 24 hours, the upper part of Thailand will experience generally hot weather, with extreme heat in the north and isolated thunderstorms. This is due to the influence of southern and southeastern winds covering upper Thailand.
In contrast, eastern and southeastern winds affect the Gulf of Thailand, southern Thailand, and the Andaman Sea, leading to thunderstorms in the south. The Gulf of Thailand is expected to see waves reaching about 1 metre and more than 2 metres in stormy areas.
Mariners in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are advised to avoid sailing in stormy regions. From March 16 to 20, a moderately strong high-pressure system from China is expected to cover upper Thailand.
This, combined with the current hot to very hot weather, will result in unstable conditions with thunderstorms, strong winds, and possible lightning in the initial phase. Subsequently, temperatures will drop, accompanied by increased wind speed.
In the Gulf of Thailand, the strengthening easterly winds will bring more rain, with some areas experiencing heavy rain, and stronger winds will affect wave conditions.

Weather forecast
The air quality in the north and upper northeast is moderate due to weak to moderate winds.
