Motorcyclist dies in Pattaya crash caught on dashcam
A tragic accident in Pattaya was caught on a car dashcam, showing a motorcyclist cutting off a car before being fatally struck. At 5.06am yesterday, July 9, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Foundation received a report of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle on Nongprue Railway Road in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chon Buri province. Rescuers rapidly arrived at the scene.
A red Toyota Altis sedan with significant front-end damage was discovered. The driver, 24 year old Danai Kraiwan, emerged from the incident without injuries. Nearby, a damaged yellow Honda Click 125i motorcycle was found.
On the road, rescuers located the body of a man who had no identification documents. Despite receiving initial first aid, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Danai recounted the event, explaining that he was driving home from Laem Chabang towards Pattaya on the Nongprue Railway Road after work. As he approached the accident location, a motorcycle suddenly sped across the railway tracks and cut him off.
Unable to brake in time, Danai collided head-on with the motorcycle. Following the incident, he promptly stopped his car and called for assistance.
Nongprue police gathered evidence, including the dashcam footage from Danai’s car, which clearly showed the moment of the collision, reported The Pattaya News.
The body of the deceased was transported to Banglamung Hospital to await identification and funeral arrangements by his family.
In related news, a motorcyclist driving against traffic on a Bangkok expressway collided head-on with a car, resulting in a fatal accident. The impact resulted in a fire that engulfed both vehicles, leading to injuries for the car driver and the untimely death of the motorcyclist.
At around 4.10am on July 7, Chaiyaphat Thabchom, Deputy Inspector from the Traffic Control Centre of the Expressway 1 Division, received a report of a car fire on the Chalerm Maha Nakorn Expressway.
