Fatal crash on Bangkok expressway leaves woman dead, man injured

A collision occurred on the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway in Klong Toei, Bangkok, when a car crashed into the rear of a parked six-wheel truck. The female driver died at the scene, while a male passenger in the front seat sustained severe injuries.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Phakamart Kamonsan from the Expressway Police Station 1 and her team, along with rescue and medical personnel, responded to the incident today, on April 6. They found a white Isuzu six-wheel truck with a crane, registration number 54-3028 Bangkok, parked in the far-right lane.
The truck’s rear left was damaged. Nearby was a grey Chevrolet, registration number 3กฒ 7757 Bangkok, with its front severely damaged, windshield shattered, and roof torn open.
Inside, they discovered the deceased driver, 31 year old Chatsamanoth, dressed in a short-sleeve shirt and trousers, with injuries including a fractured skull, severe chest impact, and a broken arm.
The male passenger was seriously injured and transported to Theptarin Hospital. The truck workers reported they were repairing the expressway’s joints around 10pm and had parked in the far-right lane with orange cones and warning lights.
At 12.30am, as they were packing up, they witnessed a vehicle speeding without braking, crashing into the truck with a loud impact. They found the male passenger injured and the female driver deceased, prompting them to alert expressway rescue services, reported KhaoSod.
Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage for evidence and awaiting the male passenger’s recovery to continue the investigation into the accident.
In similar news, a 22-wheel truck transporting stones suffered a brake malfunction and slammed into seven vehicles stopped at a red light, leaving several people injured. The driver claimed the situation could have been far worse had he not swerved to reduce the impact.
The incident occurred around 8.20am on March 31, when Police Lieutenant Porachat Raksawong, deputy inspector at Mueang Buriram Police Station, received a report of a major collision at the Phatthara intersection in Samet subdistrict, Mueang district, Buriram province. Emergency responders quickly arrived to assist the injured and manage the scene.
