THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2025 returns with a glimpse into the future of food

Asia’s biggest food and drink event is back in Bangkok. It’s bigger, bolder, and more delicious than ever.

THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2025 has landed at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, and with it comes the most ambitious showcase of food innovation and culinary trends in Asia. The food exhibition brings together over 3,100 exhibitors from 50+ countries, all converging on Bangkok to map the future of food and beverage.

Organised by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) and the Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Koelnmesse, Germany, it runs from May 27 until 31, with the final day open to the general public.

Over five days, start-ups, food tech brands, legacy producers, top chefs and policy-makers are showcasing how the way we eat is changing, fast. You’ll find everything from lab-grown proteins to AI-enhanced packaging, upcycled drinks, gut-healthy superfoods, and robotic cooking systems.

‘Beyond Food Experience’ as the main theme

The theme of THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2025 is ‘Beyond Food Experience,’ and it’s a fitting one. Across nearly every hall of IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, the exhibition is showcasing the future of food through the lens of innovation, cultural diversity, and technology.

This year’s edition brings together nine specialised trade shows under one mega roof, each one focused on a segment of the food and beverage (F&B) industry. These include: Drinks, Fine Food, Food Technology, Frozen Food, Fruits & Vegetables, Meat, Rice, Seafood, and Sweets & Confectionery.

Trend, taste, and what’s next in F&B

If you want a peek into what Asia will be eating, drinking, and obsessing over in the coming year, head straight to the Trend Zone. Curated by market intel pros Innova Market Insights, it highlights 11 F&B trends that’s shaping consumer demand right now.

From the rise of clean-label and functional ingredients to plant-based proteins, halal-certified innovations, and sustainably packaged goods, this is where the future of food is laid out in product form.

The tasteInnovation Show

Just a few aisles over, you’ll find the tasteInnovation Show, which is arguably the heart of the expo this year. The show features 60 groundbreaking products shortlisted from nearly 800 submissions.

Winning products include Thailand’s GABA Calm Drip Coffee, formulated to reduce stress through postbiotics, and Konjaco Potassium Drink, designed to support hydration and heart function.

Also gaining attention is hello m’arch, a Thai-developed quinoa-based coffee alternative that merges local grains with a health-forward appeal. Other finalists, like FLAVORWATCH™ Clear Label, offer solutions for cleaner food preservation, showing that innovation extends outside consumer-facing trends.

Thought leadership and tasting in real-time

The Future Food Experience+ programme hosts more than 70 speakers and experts from industry leaders. These include Griffith Foods, Tetra Pak Thailand, and Euromonitor International, among others. The focus here is on exchanging ideas around food tech, sustainability, and market behaviour. Everything is in the context of a rapidly transforming food economy.

Culinary stars and global recognition

And finally, it wouldn’t be THAIFEX – Anuga Asia without the high-stakes spectacle of the Thailand Ultimate Chef Challenge. This year, over 400 chefs from across the globe are going pan-to-pan in more than 20 cooking categories. The judging panel consists of fifty-seven culinary professionals from 12 countries, including Willment Leong and Worldchefs Association heavyweights.
