Sisaket shooting leaves man dead, sparks drug crackdown
A tragic shooting incident in Sisaket has left a 24 year old man dead, with police investigating two potential motives. The victim, Kittisak, was found with 25 methamphetamine pills in his pocket, prompting a crackdown on local drug activities.
The unfortunate event occurred at 11pm on October 26. Kittisak, from Nam Kliang district, Sisaket province, was critically wounded in a shooting at a three-way intersection in Ban Chan, Kanthararom district. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The discovery of 25 methamphetamine pills in his pocket has added a layer of complexity to the case.
Police Major General Pisanu Wattu, Commander of Sisaket Provincial Police, provided an update on the investigation today. He disclosed that 12 witnesses have been questioned so far.
The police are exploring two main motives: a personal conflict involving a romantic relationship and issues related to drug trafficking. Some of Kittisak’s friends, known to have a history with drugs, have already been interrogated. The police are also examining data from Kittisak’s mobile phone for additional leads, said Pol. Maj. Gen, Pisanu.
“On October 26, Kittisak and friends from the same district had arranged to meet at 10pm to watch a local performance. A friend had recently found a girlfriend in the Kanthararom district, which was why they were there.
“Kittisak arrived as planned but was shot and killed. The weapon used was a modified blank gun. We expect forensic results within a week. Meanwhile, I have ordered a crackdown on methamphetamine dealers in the area and we are collecting additional evidence from CCTV to track down the perpetrator.”
On the same day, Kittisak’s family retrieved his body from the hospital. They transported it in a pickup truck back to their home for a religious ceremony. His mother, amidst a sorrowful atmosphere, lit incense to communicate with her son’s spirit before bringing his body into the house, reported KhaoSod.
