Officer surrenders after assault and firearm theft in Chon Buri

A police officer has surrendered after assaulting his ex-girlfriend, attacking a police officer who intervened, and fleeing with the officer’s firearm.

The 37 year old Kittisak, affiliated with the Immigration Police, kicked down the door of a house in Sattahip district, Chon Buri province, and assaulted his ex-girlfriend.

Police Sub-Lieutenant Pasakorn Phachurabiabna, who attempted to assist the woman, was severely injured during the incident. Kittisak fled with Pasakorn’s 9mm firearm. The incident was reported at 6am today, March 25.

Kittisak surrendered to the Sattahip district police, returning the 9mm firearm taken from Pasakorn. The victim, 28 year old Anongluk, had frequently been harassed by Kittisak.

The officer’s actions have led to intentions of pursuing both criminal and disciplinary charges against him.

Before the incident escalated, Kittisak had shattered a door glass to gain entry and threatened harm.

Pasakorn, arriving to defuse the situation, was met with claims from Kittisak asserting his rights to the property and questioning Pasakorn’s authority to carry a weapon.

Pasakorn attempted to prevent Kittisak from causing further harm but was assaulted by Kittisak, who kicked him, inflicted injuries, and seized his firearm. Kittisak did not offer any statements during the surrender, merely lowering his head.

Initial instructions were given by Police Colonel Khomsan Kamtunkaew, Sattahip Police Station chief, to call for a thorough investigation of Kittisak. Charges are being prepared, and communication with Kittisak’s department for disciplinary action is underway.
