Gang members arrested in Pattaya for assault on Laotian woman

Two men from a gang of seven have been apprehended in connection with a robbery and assault on a 26 year old Laotian woman, identified as Waewta, in Pattaya, Chon Buri province.
The group, which included one woman and six men, used balaclavas to conceal their identities during the attack on February 2. They reportedly used a gun to intimidate, while the female suspect initiated the assault by slapping and cutting the victim’s face with a knife.
The remaining male accomplices then joined in the attack. The victim sustained serious injuries, and the group fled with 7,000 baht (US$205) in cash, a mobile phone, a passport, and motorcycle keys.
Waewta sought assistance from Kanthas Pongsphibulwetch, also known as Kan Jompalung, on March 17, due to a lack of progress in the case.

They were apprehended at a residence in central Pattaya, along with the motorcycle used in the crime, which had been repainted to evade detection. Both suspects have chosen to withhold information from reporters, opting to speak only with the police.
The remaining five suspects are still at large, but police have gathered significant leads and actively pursued their capture, reported KhaoSod.
