Luxury car driver apologises after slapping 14 year old motorcyclist

A recent incident involving a luxury car driver and a 14 year old motorcyclist in Phak Hai district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, has gained attention.
The driver, a 42 year old man known as A, admitted to slapping the teenage motorcyclist after an alleged traffic dispute. Despite the motorcyclist’s apology, the driver proceeded with the assault. The event, captured in a widely circulated video, sparked a public debate.
A journalist spoke with the father of the motorcyclist, 38 year old Krikkiet, who shared his son’s account of the incident. The teenager was on his way to a convenience store and made a turn, inadvertently cutting off the luxury vehicle.
This action seemingly angered the driver, who followed the motorcyclist and slapped him, even after the teenager apologised. The driver also threatened the boy, claiming local notoriety.
Following the video’s release, the luxury car driver contacted the family to apologise and offered 10,000 baht (US$295) as compensation. However, further communication from the driver, implying connections with influential people, left the family feeling threatened.

This prompted a meeting at Phak Hai Police Station to resolve the matter, mediated by Police Colonel Dusadee Hirunrat.
During discussions, A claimed his actions were provoked by the teenager turning and sticking out his tongue, which the teenager and his family denied, challenging him to produce evidence. Pol. Col. Dusadee then asked the media to leave to facilitate private negotiations, reported KhaoSod.
After about 15 minutes, both parties managed to reconcile, shaking hands and exchanging apologies. A embraced the teenager outside the room and apologised to his family, with the teenager again offering his apology.
