Jealous boyfriend murders partner in central Thailand

A jealous boyfriend murdered his 28 year old girlfriend for smiling at a male colleague. The young couple had been living together for six months while working at the same factory before the tragic incident unfolded.
Police Lieutenant Phasith Chultakarn from Ban Pong Police Station in Ratchaburi province, yesterday, March 5, at 6pm, received a report of a woman fatally stabbed in a rented room in Suan Kluai subdistrict, Ban Pong district.
Accompanied by Police Colonel Kobchok Lektrakun, the investigation team, and the Ruamjai Charity Foundation rescue unit, they arrived at the scene.
Inside the room, they found May’s body seated on a chair with a severe stab wound on the left side of her neck. A kitchen knife was found on the floor.
Her boyfriend, 30 year old Sai, was sitting next to her body, waiting to surrender. Both were identified as Myanmar nationals residing together.
Interviews with the deceased’s friends revealed that May and Sai had met while working at a factory in Ban Pong. They fell in love and moved into the rented room about six months ago.
It was reported that they frequently argued, with May often being subjected to violence due to Sai’s jealousy. On the day of the incident, they fought again after Sai saw May greet a male colleague with a smile.
May had come to the room with clothes, asking to stay over. Sai followed her in a fit of rage, questioning if she would reconcile with him.
When May refused, Sai pulled out a knife hidden behind his back and stabbed her in the neck. Shocked, witnesses ran out of the room, while Sai remained beside May’s body, waiting for the police, reported KhaoSod.
Police have taken May’s body to the hospital and Sai into custody for questioning. He faces charges of intentional murder, pending further legal proceedings.
