Jealous rage erupts into deadly bar shooting after night out turns violent

A close friend has been apprehended after pursuing and fatally shooting a 39 year old bank employee, Weerawat, in a shocking incident in Nonthaburi province. The suspect, 41 year old Sitthipong, was arrested near a resort in Suphan Buri and faces three serious charges.
The tragic event unfolded yesterday, May 3, at 1am, when Sitthipong allegedly fired nearly 20 shots at Weerawat, killing him at a bar on Liap Mueang Pak Kret Road, Pak Kret, Nonthaburi. Following the shooting, Sitthipong fled the scene in a sedan. This event was reported earlier.
By 2pm on the same day, police from Region 1, in collaboration with the investigative team from Doem Bang Nang Buat Police Station, captured Sitthipong. The arrest was made under an arrest warrant issued by the Nonthaburi Provincial Court, number 614/2568, dated May 3.
Sitthipong is accused of premeditated murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and carrying a firearm in a village or public area without permission. He also faces allegations of discharging a firearm in a public area without a valid reason.
Sitthipong was taken to Doem Bang Nang Buat Police Station for documentation before being transferred to Pak Kret Police Station for prosecution.
Family members of the deceased collected Weerawat’s body from the Institute of Forensic Medicine to perform a ritual at the crime scene in Soi Tonson 15, Pak Kret, Nonthaburi. The body was then taken to Wat Sai Yai in Sai Noi, Nonthaburi, for religious ceremonies.
This incident reportedly stemmed from a heated disagreement between the friends, as Sitthipong reacted violently after being rejected for a further outing, leading to him ramming his car into Weerawat’s and firing 10 shots, resulting in the latter’s death, reported KhaoSod.
In similar news, a 16 year old vocational student was fatally shot after stopping his motorcycle to relieve himself on Khao Tang Road in Phichit province. The tragic incident occurred around 11.30pm on April 16, the last day of Songkran festivities, leaving his friends devastated.
