Police in Suphanburi apprehended a man suspected of drug use after a tip-off from residents. Despite his initial denial, a urine test confirmed methamphetamine use, leading to the discovery of more drugs hidden in his home.

A special task force targeting drug suppression and social order, led by Sit Yamphraiphirom, the district chief of Mueang Suphanburi, and Thanapon Sangkhaphan, a local administrative officer, received a complaint yesterday, August 7, from residents about a group of youths allegedly using drugs at a house in Village No. 5, Piharn Daeng Subdistrict, Mueang District, Suphanburi Province.

Upon investigating, the police encountered Phallop (surname withheld) inside the house. When questioned about drug use, Phallop denied any involvement. However, a subsequent urine test revealed purple-coloured urine, a positive indicator of methamphetamine use. Confronted with this evidence, Phallop admitted to consuming three methamphetamine pills.

The police then questioned him further about the presence of additional drugs. Phallop remained uncooperative, prompting the officers to conduct a thorough search of the premises. During the search, they discovered a pain relief pill bottle hidden under the mattress.

Upon opening it, they found not white pain relief tablets, but 13 orange methamphetamine pills. Phallop confessed that he intended to consume the drugs and had concealed them in the bottle under the mattress, reported KhaoSod.

Police charged Phallop with possession of methamphetamine without a permit and took him to Mueang Suphanburi Police Station for further legal proceedings.

In related news, Pattaya police last night arrested a former Dutch soldier for illegal drug possession after raiding his condominium room. The 63 year old Simon Leonardus Petrus Sjerps was found with crystal methamphetamine and equipment allegedly used for producing date-rape drugs.
