An unfolding story from Phuket has led to the arrest of a hotel worker in Karon, who was implicated in a violent gang-related attack that happened back in August.

The hotel worker, known only as Mr USA, was apprehended by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) earlier today, in front of the hotel where he was currently employed.

The report provided by the CIB indicates that the hotel worker was actively involved in a brutal gang attack that took place in Phuket Town on August 19. A member of a rival gang encountered him and his affiliates in a public park located in the Talad Yai subdistrict of Phuket Town, resulting in a serious altercation.

The narrative from the CIB further details how Mr USA, alongside three other individuals, brutally attacked the rival gang member, inflicting severe injuries. With the aid of a knife, they slashed the victim’s head, leaving him with a fractured skull and more than ten wounds overall before hastily fleeing the scene.

In response to the violent event, Phuket City Police promptly assembled, gathering evidence and working closely with the courts. Consequently, the Phuket Provincial Court issued a warrant for Mr USA’s arrest. The charges levied against him included jointly attempting to kill another person and taking weapons into towns, villages, or public roads openly or without reasonable cause, reported Phuket News.

The investigation took a turn when officers from the Crime Suppression Division Region 5 joined the case. Through their combined efforts, they discovered that the hotel worker had taken refuge at a hotel in Karon. This information led to his arrest earlier today.

Following his apprehension, Mr USA was transported to the Phuket City Police Station, where he is currently awaiting legal proceedings. As the case continues to develop, more details are expected to emerge about the circumstances leading to this violent incident in August, and the hotel worker’s role in it.
